Simon Smith is our
Minister. Simon spent
five years working for a Life Insurance Company before pursuing a call
into pastoral ministry. He graduated in theology and pastoral practice
at Moorlands College, Dorset, and at Spurgeon's College, London.
Simon was ordained in 1992 and is an accredited Baptist Minister with
the Baptist Union of Great Britain. He was appointed as our Minister in
September 2002 after a 13-year ministry in South London.
Simon serves as a pastor and a preacher. He encourages people to
live as Christian believers, and to experience church as a family of
believers where they can belong. He chairs meetings of the church
and its leadership team as he seeks to hold the church together in a
true place. Simon encourages us to be a welcoming, attractive
church but also to be outgoing and involved in the world around
us. He meets privately with all sorts of people who have all
sorts of reasons to need a listening ear, support and counsel, and he
is much involved with the wider
community.
WORKING TOGETHER…
In the life and work of our Church family, all church members are encouraged to play an active part.
Church Meeting: This bi-monthly gathering of leaders and church members helps to shape church life and work.
Church Leadership Team: The Church Meeting elects leaders to work with the Minister in order to support and develop the work of the church.
Church Office:
Our Church Administrator runs our busy Church Office and enables the
work of a lively, growing church to run as smoothly as possible.
Within the different areas of our work, many teams and workers combine
to form an active and caring Christian Church family which is open to
all.
