Built to last

The
message of ‘Hebrews’ - for today
|
In September 2004 we started a one-year Sunday morning series called ‘Firm Foundations’.
In changing and challenging times we need the bedrock of timeless and
secure principles that will help us in believing God, belonging to
God’s family and being the kind of people God wants us to be
– followers of Jesus.
In September 2005 we continued with a new one-year series, ‘Time to Build’.
Firm foundations are vital for our lives and for our church family but
from that secure base, something is then meant to emerge, take shape
and grow. Christians are involved in the building of
God’s
kingdom where we are building with prayer and building
together.
At Buckhurst Hill Baptist Church, for all kinds of reasons,
it’s ‘Time to Build’.
This September, we begin a follow-up series, ‘Built
to Last’.
We will be exploring the New Testament letter to the Hebrews which was
written to a group of Christians who were under pressure and close to
giving up. Our times and situations are much different to
theirs
but the message is timeless. It encourages us to keep going
with
a faith that perseveres, with a focus that rises above the pressures of
the day, with friends who can help us hold it all together in the
family of faith. In the stress of modern life, in the
challenges
of secular society, we need a faith which is ‘Built
to Last’.
