BELIEVING & BELONGING

The Christian church is where we encourage people to come to a place where they can believe in God and belong together in his family.

BELIEVING…

This involves a challenge and a choice arising from the life, work and claims of Jesus Christ.  He challenges us to believe in him.  He is presented to us uniquely as God revealed to us in person - as the Saviour of the world… 
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that
 whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”
This challenge to believe invites a choice from each one of us.  Many choose not to believe.  Christians are those who believe and put their faith in Jesus.  Baptist churches encourage this personal response to be marked in believers’ baptism.  As the Bible says:
“Believe and be baptised, every one of you, for the forgiveness of your sins” 

BELONGING…

Becoming a Christian believer is not meant to be a solitary life.  Instead, we can discover an extended family and good friends where our Christian faith can grow, where we can be involved and where we can belong together.
“To all who received Jesus, to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God.”
Membership of a Baptist Church is simply to recognise that the children of God are part of a family; where together we believe and we belong.
